We enrol students after their 4th birthday where they have their own class which is called the Infant Learning Centre for students aged 4 to 6.

The ACE curriculum has two main programmes for children who do not read. The Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program is designed to prepare the student to be ready to read. Some children will learn to read sometime during the year. When a student is tested ready to read or has gaps in phonetic reading, the ABC's with Ace and Christi program walks him/her through the process of learning to read.

For a student to be considered ready to read, he/she must score a minimum of 80% on the ABC's with Ace and Christi Reading Readiness Test. The student must also demonstrate a proper maturity level as shown by the Coordination Development Tests. These tests are necessary as the child is accepted on the basis of his/her physical and emotional maturity, visual and auditory perception, and eye-hand coordination, not on the basis of his/her physical age.

Neurological balance is necessary for the student to become a good reader. A student who is shown to be “ready to read” is enrolled in the ABC's with Ace and Christi programme whether 5, 6, or 7 years old.

Children who score below 80 percent on the Reading Readiness Test are not ready to learn to read and are, therefore, enrolled in the Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program (reading readiness) to prepare them for the ABC's with Ace and Christi program (learning to read).

The Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program complements the ABC's with Ace and Christi program with the same philosophy, phonics/phonetics, and friendly animal characters that they become familiar with as the students progress in their PACE’s: Maths. English, Science, Social Studies, Word Building (spelling) and Literature & Creative Writing. In addition to PACE work, students participate in Extra-Curricular Activities.

A great advantage of the ACE system is its concept of individualisation. Children are diagnosed, and PACE’s are prescribed according to the students’ needs. The ACE system is designed to enable students to go as far as their intellectual and emotional maturity will allow.1

We invite you to visit us and learn more about the Infant Learning Centre if you are considering to enrol your young student at PromisedLand Academy.
